Krumpholz spades are forged from particularly strong and tough carbon steel and are significantly more durable than, for example, spades made from rather brittle stainless steel.
However, Krumpholz ‘s spades can also be destroyed via excessive leverage. Basically, the larger the blade, the less suitable the spade is for levering. The primary function is to cut the soil. Levering is possible to a limited extent depending on the blade and the force applied.
For levering you should use a digging forkuse.
