Hand-forged Berlin paving hammer from the German tool manufacturer Krumpholz. Krumpholz has been forging since 1799 and is still family owned. The hammers are forged from Swedish steel to the highest quality standards. Durable, resilient ash wood is used for the wooden handles and grips. Top quality for the highest demands in gardening and landscaping.
Hints for stemming:
Place the hammer handle at a comfortable working height on a wooden beam or planks. Place the eye of the hammer head on the handle. If necessary, slightly break the edges of the upper end of the stem with a cutter knife to make it easier to put the head on.
Then turn the hammer over, place the head on the beam and hammer the handle straight with a mallet, piece by piece, until it is flush with the eye of the head.
When the hammer head is flush with the handle, drive in the drive-in sleeve to form a stable connection between the handle and the hammer head.
Care instructions
Dry wood after use. Storage in dry and unheated rooms, barns or garden sheds. When stored in heated rooms, the stem dries out and loses elasticity. The stem can then break more easily than with proper storage. If necessary, treat the handle with wood oil or linseed oil.
