REPLACEMENT HEAD – for Krumpholz hoopoes – angular or oval
Hoopoe hoe replacement head from Krumpholz. Forged with oval eye for the lacquered 105 cm ash handle no. 9022. Tested by the ‘Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik e.V.’ (KWF) and awarded as most suitable planting hoe.
The “hoe” is ideal for working heavily rooted soils. The sharply ground axe cuts through even strong roots. The hoe can easily loosen the soil. Ideal also for digging larger planting holes. Weight of about 2.4 kg.
Wiedehophaue oval or angular?
- Oval hoopoes are particularly suitable for digging in very stony soils or for removing stones.
- Edged hoes are generally better suited for working in clayey or normal soils, as they can move more soil.

The forged hoes from Krumpholz for coarse and finer work. For cutting through massive roots or digging planting holes, creating ditches / drainage ditches or simply for weed control in the bed.
We have the right hoe for every requirement. For gardeners and landscapers, professionals in municipal building yards and, of course, private gardeners with high demands on their gardening tools.
Hand-forged garden tools from the German tool manufacturer Krumpholz. Krumpholz has been forging since 1799 and is still family owned. Spades, shovels, rakes, hoes, weeders, planting trowels and many other useful garden tools are forged from Swedish steel at the highest quality level. Durable, resilient ash wood is used for the wooden handles and grips. Best quality for the highest demands in gardening.
Hint for stemming
The hoe must be assembled on site. The handle is conical. The head is simply slipped on and hammered tightly. To do this, hit the handle with the attached head several times in a vertical movement (from top to bottom), e.g. on a wooden beam or squared timber. Due to the negative acceleration when the handle head hits the squared timber, the head of the hoe “slides” stably onto the thickened handle head and closes positively. To stabilize the compound you can still water it. This swells the wood and the connection between the head and the stem becomes even stronger.
Notes Ash handle:
Ash wood handles are strong and elastic. Ash stem breakage is greatly increased when the stem dries out. Please do not store the stem in boiler rooms and similarly heated rooms. Ash stems are obtained from the domestic ash tree.
