Hand-forged forestry tools from the German tool manufacturer Krumpholz. Krumpholz has been forging since 1799 and is still family owned. Axes, hatchets, sappies and many other useful forestry tools are forged from Swedish steel at the highest quality level. Notes Ash handle:
Ash handles are strong and elastic. Impacts are cushioned by the wood, which is easy on the joints. A complete breakage of the ash stem is rather rare, but occurs especially when the wood dries out. There is then a risk of injury here from the uncontrolled axe head. Ash handles are made from domestic ash and are cheaper than hickory handles.
Care instructions
Dry the blades and wood after use. Storage in dry and unheated rooms, barns or garden sheds. When stored in heated rooms, the stem dries out and loses elasticity. The stem can then break more easily than with proper storage. If necessary, treat the handle lightly with a wood oil or linseed oil.
