Cross-blow hammer no. 2713 from Krumpholz with 5 kg head weight. Forged from carbon steel and 80 cm ash handle. Solid, stable design for use in the forge and in metal construction. It is similar to the sledge hammer, but has the fin aligned lengthways to the hammer handle. This is used to shape and straighten metal, to drive holes or to remove welding slag.
In the forge, the cross-head hammer is usually used with an anvil to work on workpieces.
